Both leaders and managers can only exist if there are also followers. In management terms, followers may be thought of as subordinates, although this word carries strong connotations of power imbalance. Followers have the potential to make or break a leader or manager, even those with good leadership qualities. Leaders must carefully consider the composition of the group being led. The leader-follower relationship can be enhanced and empowered after careful examination within this course.
